Fall Neutrals

fashion

img_5818img_5821img_5825I wore this  outfit to class. I wanted to keep it simple, as always, but I also wanted to be a little less casual than usual. I decided to go with an all black outfit- my holy grail. The top is a simple long sleeved V neck and the ankle-length pants are Zara, but I bought them at a local thrift shop. They are slightly high waisted and have a lot of stretch to them, which I love. Also, they are ankle length, but I rolled them up to show off the booties. For a pop of color, I added my longline olive bomber jacket and the most comfortable pair of booties I own. Instead of doing a typical black shoe for this all black look, the tan shoes give more color and interest, and complements the olive jacket very well. Since the weather was descent this day, I rolled my sleeves up a little, which I think looked much better with the rolled up pants.

Chic Biker Style

Being a fashion design major in college is tricky. You want to be comfortable, as you have many studios. However, you also want to be stylish from time to time. For the very first time in a long time I felt like putting on real clothes-meaning no workout clothes or leggings. Plus, it was Halloween so I figured it was the perfect opportunity to channel my inner dark side.  I wore these black acid wash high-waisted jeans. I styled them with a long sleeve black crop top, my favorite faux leather jacket, and these quilted suede over-the-knee boots. As you can see, the individual items are very simple, but when put together they work well and makes it look like I actually put a lot of thought and effort into the outfit. Lastly, I am wearing a suede choker around my neck to add more detail and edge to the look. For a more dramatic look, I added a bold winged eyeliner with a vampy lip.

Distressed Tee Trend: Tees by Fee

Distressed tees are everywhere! Celebrities, bloggers, your favorite muses are wearing them. If you don’t have one you are definitely missing out on the most edgy trend. The custom rhinestones were put on this oversized black t-shirt by my mom (She has her own rhinestone t-shirt business). I took a pair of scissors and cut holes of varying sizes throughout the entire shirt. I cut a “v” shape into the neckline to show a little more skin. I also added some chains to the holes near the bottom of the shirt. The holes makes the shirt more interesting, but honestly the rhinestones bring it to life! Not only is this following the distressed tee trend, but it is also setting a new trend. Most people use graphic tees or even plain tees for this look. You can wear it casually or even dress it up for a night out. Get your custom bling tee today!

**Also, after washing, the shirt did not fray and none of the rhinestones fell off.

Penn’s Landing

Ever wonder what to wear on a hot day spent by the ocean or river? I wore this outfit on a hot day at Penn’s Landing. No matter how hot it is outside, it will always be breezy by a body of water, especially when the sun starts to set. Personally, I find jeans are more comfortable than wearing shorts or a dress. I don’t have to worry about my legs being cold or pulling an accidental “Marilyn Monroe”-one of a woman’s biggest fears when wearing a skirt or dress that the wind will blow it up in the air. The jeans of my choice for this were my mom jeans. These are the most comfortable pair of jeans I own, especially when doing laid back activities. I paired it with a mock turtle neck tank and my favorite sneakers, which is something else to keep in mind.  It may also be a good idea to wrap an oversized shirt or sweater around your waist in case you get cold- I happened to leave mine in the car. No matter where you are going, always think about your comfort. Add your favorite purse and pair of sunnies and you’re good to go!

On a run to the King of Prussia Mall, I wore a ribbed crop top, highwaisted jeans, and sneakers. I like to keep it very simple and comfortable when shopping. High waisted jeans and crop tops are my go to, as you guys already know. They are the perfect combo! These are my favorite jeans- they are stretchy and extremely comfy. They are also the perfect shade of blue!

Styling A T-Shirt Dress

fashion

T-shirt dresses were very popular this summer. You’ve seen them on your favorite celebs and in your favorite boutiques. I haven’t worn dresses until recently. I’ve always been uncomfortable in them, but after realizing how easy they are to style and wear when you don’t feel like getting glammed up, I fell in love with their simplicity. I wore this simple scooped hem t-shirt dress for my first day of classes. I was so breathable in the unbearable heat. Of course I threw on my Adidas and tied a shirt around my waist. For this look, I chose  a multi-colored plaid shirt to add some color. This is a very minimal look that is perfect for those “I can’t find an outfit” mornings.

On a hot summer day, I wore a taupe sundress, a denim shirt, sneakers, and a faux snakeskin textured tote. It was in the high 90s, so I wanted to wear something lightweight and breathable. This thin knit dress was not too tight, so I was extremely comfortable. I love tying shirts around my waist to add my simple style. I chose this denim one because it complements the color of the dress. For shoes, of course I am wearing my Adidas Superstars. These go with literally everything. There are many different shoes you can wear to either dress your your look up or make it more casual. I wore sneakers because I knew I would be doing a lot of walking. To complete the look I added my faux leather snakeskin black tote bag to add one more color to the look and to match the stripes on my sneakers. You guys know I live for contrast- I also love how the black contrasts with the lightly colored dress and denim shirt. Lastly, the real statement piece of this look is the beautiful mosaic street art behind me, which I could not resist having a mini photoshoot in front of.
