Business Casual

As you dolls know, I am a all-out neutrals gal. It is very rare that I wear an outfit that does not include black. This day, I got my fashion design portfolio reviewed by design companies. The only issue was that I left my dress pants at home. However, there are always ways around this. Putting a blazer on took this look from casual to business casual. Yes, my jeans are a tad tight for business attire, but the longline blazer compensates for it. I put on my favorite silver necklace and these stylish color block booties I bought from Primark. Adding the gray and black booties added more depth to the look- the black becomes less overpowering. I would not recommend this look for an interview, but it could definitely work for a  meeting or day when you want to look professional, yet fashionable and a little more on the casual side. I wore my hair in a sleek bun versus my fro to look even more professional, and kept my makeup on the simple side by adding a nude lip color.

Fall Neutrals

img_5818img_5821img_5825I wore this  outfit to class. I wanted to keep it simple, as always, but I also wanted to be a little less casual than usual. I decided to go with an all black outfit- my holy grail. The top is a simple long sleeved V neck and the ankle-length pants are Zara, but I bought them at a local thrift shop. They are slightly high waisted and have a lot of stretch to them, which I love. Also, they are ankle length, but I rolled them up to show off the booties. For a pop of color, I added my longline olive bomber jacket and the most comfortable pair of booties I own. Instead of doing a typical black shoe for this all black look, the tan shoes give more color and interest, and complements the olive jacket very well. Since the weather was descent this day, I rolled my sleeves up a little, which I think looked much better with the rolled up pants.

Outfit of the Night

This past weekend I went to a surprise birthday party. I wore an all black outfit with a striped faux fur vest. I used the vest as a bold statement piece, so I kept the rest of the outfit minimal; a turtleneck sweater, black high-waisted skinnies, suede quilted over-the-knee boots, a black and gold necklace, gold stud earrings, and a gold watch. The all black is my go-to, especially for nighttime. So simple, yet so stylish. This outfit is perfect for when you want to feel dressed up, with being comfortable and casual. The bold blackberry lipstick is a statement on its own that complements the dark outfit. The two toned faux fur with this vampy lip makes the entire look!

Black Booties

Black booties are an essential part of fall fashion. I purchased a pair of round-toed faux leather booties online at Charlotte Russe for $15. The heel is 3.5″ and the platform is 0.5″. They are perfect for a casual everyday outfit, especially for a college student. They can even be dressed up to go on an evening date or to go out with friends. Not to mention, they are extremely comfortable and easy to walk in. There’s no better feeling than being both stylish and comfy at the same time.
