American Heart Association Red Dress Event

I’ve never blogged about the work I do as a designer since this is my personal style blog. However, today is an exception! I created a red evening gown to raise awareness for women with heart disease for one of my classes. Heart disease is the number one killer in women. My dress made it into the competition, as well as my school’s annual fashion show. To the event, I went with the red theme and wore a burgundy outfit. I found this really cool asymmetric bodysuit and paired it with a burgundy pencil skirt. I wore a tightly fitted blazer with black heels. As a statement piece, I wore a gold necklace and matched it with a thick bracelet. Finally, I put on my favorite hippie by Colourpop, LAX. It is the perfect maroon tone and it complements my skin very well. I felt this look was so easy to create and very classy and mature, which is what is was going for.

So I have a confession…I have a new obsession with bomber jackets! I have collected them in multiple colors and this was my first time wearing this nude one. I attended a fashion networking event in my hometown and I decided to go with a laid back look, like always. I wore my new light wash highwaisted skinnies with a tied ribbed crop top (yes, it came already tied permanently). These are one of the most comfortable jeans I own. I matched my favorite pair of booties with my bomber, because as you dolls know, I am obsessed with color blocking! I love the nude and olive color together and they are becoming my favorite color combo. To finish this simple look, I wore a brown snakeskin choker with silver spikes.

  • Bomber Jacket: Ross ($15)
  • Ribbed Crop Top: Charlotte Russe Outlet ($5)
  • Light wash skinnies: Forever 21 Plus (Size 12, $19.50)

Spring in the Winter

70 degree weather in the middle of February?! Hi loves! I could not resist putting on my new pair of boyfriend jeans and cap for this beautiful day in the middle of winter. I wore a ribbed white top, my favorite sneakers of course, and a pink bomber with a pink hat to add color. To add even more color, I wore this olive green purse for the first time. This is such a simple and laid-back look, but this was also a little out of my comfort zone because I’m an “all black everything” type of gal. I felt so girly and I felt this outfit went well with the beautiful weather. I also wore this as I was traveling from Atlantic City to Philly, so it was perfect for the car ride. To make things even better, the jeans and shirt were only $10 and this heavy duty bag was only $14! Such a steal!

img_5818img_5821img_5825I wore this  outfit to class. I wanted to keep it simple, as always, but I also wanted to be a little less casual than usual. I decided to go with an all black outfit- my holy grail. The top is a simple long sleeved V neck and the ankle-length pants are Zara, but I bought them at a local thrift shop. They are slightly high waisted and have a lot of stretch to them, which I love. Also, they are ankle length, but I rolled them up to show off the booties. For a pop of color, I added my longline olive bomber jacket and the most comfortable pair of booties I own. Instead of doing a typical black shoe for this all black look, the tan shoes give more color and interest, and complements the olive jacket very well. Since the weather was descent this day, I rolled my sleeves up a little, which I think looked much better with the rolled up pants.

Get the Look:
